Short videos for running a session in the PaddleScramble app: following the night from your desk, then, in the order a night goes, setting up partners, someone leaving early, the playoff, and the next group arriving, and finally combining two iPads that each have their own copy of a group. Each is about a minute and a half, with no sound needed.

Run the night from your desk

Set up the night with Recurring Group Play. The last step, Playoff setup, is where you plan the finish: semis and a final is two more rounds, one round is one.
Tap •••, then Live Share, to put tonight's page up right away. Otherwise it goes up on its own once 3 rounds are scored and you move on to round 4. Quick Setup sessions never get a page.
At your desk, go to live.paddlescramble.com and type the 5-character game code shown under the group name. New scores show up by themselves, usually within half a minute. Scores are still entered on the iPad at the courts.
After 4 full rounds the page shows when the rounds should finish and how many minutes each round is taking. That time is the round robin only; the playoff is not in it.
The app doesn't know when your court time ends, so do the math: rounds ending about 8:50, plus two playoff rounds of about 14 minutes, is about 9:18. Too tight? In the app, tap the Ends with line under the games and pick One round.
Once the playoff starts, the page draws the bracket and names the champion. It stays up for 7 days.

Fixed partners: choose who plays with whom

Set it up from Recurring Group Play on the Home screen, and pick Fixed Partner Crazy Eights. Quick Setup always runs regular Crazy Eights.
You need an even number of players, 8 or more.
On Pick the partners, tap one name so it lights up blue, then tap their partner. The two become a pair.
Paired the wrong people? Tap the grey X on that pair. Both players go back to the list so you can pair them again.
Partners stay together all session. With the default number of rounds, every pair plays every other pair, and the standings rank pairs instead of people.
The app doesn't remember last week's pairs, so you pick them each session. To change pairs after you start, tap Start over with different settings before anyone enters a score.

Someone has to leave early

To switch mid-session, tap ••• on the round page, then Switch to open play, then Switch — people are coming and going.
Every score already entered stays. The rounds nobody has played yet are dropped. From then on the app deals one round at a time from whoever is there, until you end the session. You can't undo the switch.
To send someone home, tap Leave, tap their name, then Done. When every court is final, tap Next round, and the next round is drawn from the people still there.
To keep the round robin instead, go to the page of the last round they played. Tap Someone arriving or leaving?, set them to Out, then tap Cover [name]'s remaining games. In each later round, whoever is sitting out takes their place.
Marking someone Out on its own doesn't change the schedule. The Cover button is what moves the games.
Either way, the games they already played still count, and they stay in the standings, greyed out with a "left" tag.

Playoffs: move players around

When every game has a score, tap the gold Finalize button at the top of the last round, then Playoff for the title.
The app suggests matchups from tonight's standings: 1 & 2 play 3 & 4, and 5 & 6 play 7 & 8. The semifinal winners play for the title and the losers play for third.
To change them, tap Edit the matchups first. Tap one player and they turn green. Tap another and the two swap places. Swap as many as you like, including between the two semifinals.
The small number beside each name is that player's place in the standings. It stays with them when they move.
Reset to the default puts back the app's matchups. When it looks right, tap Start playoff with these matchups.
Make your swaps before you start: once the playoff is on the schedule, the swap screen is no longer offered. It isn't offered for a one-round playoff or on Fixed Partner nights either.

Two sessions at once

Only one session is open at a time. When you start a second one, the first is put aside with every score kept.
From the session that is running, tap Home, then Recurring Group Play (or Quick Setup). The app asks "Start a second game?". Tap Start it.
Set up the next group in one go: check who's here (or tap All), tap Next after each step, then Start — Make the Schedule. If you leave setup halfway, your picks are cleared.
With 2 or more courts, the app asks "Which courts are you on?", so each group can have its own real court numbers.
To switch back and forth: the Switch button under ALSO RUNNING on Home, or ••• then Switch games inside a session. A green dot on ••• means another session is still running. Nothing is lost when you switch.
Each group's session has its own code and its own game page for players. The page is made automatically once 3 rounds are fully scored (unless "Sessions go on a page" is off in the ••• menu), or sooner with Live Share. Quick Setup sessions never go on a page.
Only the open session's game page takes new scores. To update a group's page, switch to that session and enter its scores; the page catches up about 20 seconds later.

Two iPads, one group

For when two iPads each made their own copy of the same group, so each one has only part of the season.
Update both iPads to PaddleScramble 2.0.1 or later. Make iPad 1 the one whose season link your players already use, and finish any open session on iPad 2.
On iPad 1, open Season Standings, tap •••, then Invite an organizer. It shows a QR code and a 5-character code.
On iPad 2, open Season Standings, tap •••, then Join with an invite. Scan the QR code in that sheet (it joins by itself), or type the code and tap Join the group.
iPad 2's sessions move into the shared group and every record adds up. Its old copy stays behind as an empty "Old Player Group", which is expected.
With both iPads online, open Season Standings on iPad 1. Once "Up to date" shows the current time, it has the same sessions. From then on either iPad can run a session, and the other gets it when Season Standings is opened.
